I've moved on...
...to a different domain. Why, what were you thinking? The truth is, I just woke up one day and decided it's time for a change—a metamorphosis, if you will; or, in layman's terms, if Britney can shave her head, then maybe so can I? Nevertheless, it's been a rather handsome 10 years of talking to you, and thank you for putting up with all my moodswings and terrible dad jokes. Fear not! The hormonal imbalance and jokes are more terrible on CUBICLE, see you there.

Shipley & Halmos for Uniqlo | Office Shoes

The colour of the top reminded me of some pieces from Alexander Wang’s SS09 collection; I convinced myself that I’ve never ever owned a colour like that in my entire life. I know, dramatic, at least that seemed like a reasonable excuse at the time. Also looks like I need to sell another pair of shoes just to justify keeping the lurrvley feet mummifiers. I’m thinking of selling my Emma Cooks this time, it is now damn clear that I’m not a size 5. Now, I could sell it on ebay for a ridiculous sum and be a happy bunny for a while until the ebay fees come out… or I can make someone else happy by selling it for £140. Anyone? UK Size 5, like new, comes in original box, carecard and dustbag. If you miss it now you’ll be the one finding my ridonkulous ebay listing a few months down the road and then you’ll probably have to sob into a tub of icecream from all the regret.

I’ll be closing down the shop from the 23rd of June till late September 2009 as I’ll be separated from my stuff when I return back home to Warsaw. Unfortuantely I do not own a donkey on which I can load my merchandise and travel the world to sell goods at an empty street corner nearby you. All transactions must be concluded by the 22nd, so I can send out anything on the 23rd! Hm, I may be updating the shop from Warsaw, who knows.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Shirt Men’s Uniqlo | Pants Gmarket | Shoes Nine West | Bag Public Beware | Belt Rockit London

img_85581

I wasn’t familiar with Public Beware until Thursday after the exhibition set-up Ellen and I were gobbling away on a hamburglar and corn on the cob on the curb (say that faster 5 times) of their Brick Lane shop. The Japanese boutique stocks styles in all ranges and you’re bound you find something unique and interesting for a decent price. The bag cost £45 which is buckets cheaper than how much I’d pay for a bag of similar quality and size in a highstreet chain, and of course the ZIPPERS. There is a tiny collection available here in ASOS, but it really doesn’t do any justice to how much there is in the real thing.

I definitely recommend a visit to Brick lane when you’re in London, there’s so many hidden gems in the small streets. I myself don’t hang around there much and therefore probably missing out in the whole art student culture experience, but then again I wouldn’t know culture even if it hit me on the balls. I mean, you know what I mean.

The shoes finally arrived! Someone rang the doorbell in the middle of the night, or so it felt like at 9am, and if it weren’t for the lovely shoes I may have locked the dude in the gas & electricity meter cupboard. NO ONE messes with the sleeping beast. (For those just tuning in, I bought these two from Gmarket, a Korean webmarket – here’s the post with guidelines for how to get around that crazy place) (For those just tuning in, also, I do not like waking up at double digit AM hours. Just because I go to sleep at single digit AM hours)

I must say, one of my biggest pet peeves is when shoe makers other than C.Louboutin paint their soles red. Not only are red soles Christian Louboutin’s artistic signature, but today they’ve come to represent women of certain financial status, occupation or style. It doesn’t bother me greatly that high street retailers ‘replicate’ trend designs to make them more affordable, but it does bother me when they replicate a signature, a supposedly timeless factor for any designer.

So… for those who skipped the above paragraph for any reason including illiteracy, I sharpied my sole black because the pretentious red annoyed me greatly.

As for the quality of the shoes I wore today, meh – 3 out of 5 maybe – the heels are wobbly, like most Asian-made heels (remember that the next time you’re buying). I guess I got what I paid for, but the design is satisfying so I guess I will have to grant them entry into the shoedrawer without a visa.

My first Gmarket box arrived containing 2 black bags, the beige suede jacket, white sheet dress and hey, a blue beanie as a bonus! (which, by the way, doesn’t fit my head, it does fit my fist though.)

The bags are faux-leather so I fully anticipated it to look cheap, but once you carry it a bit, the way it slouches in the right places it really doesn’t look all that bad. Then again I’m very easily pleased – I get happy when I meet a fox in the courtyard, so I may be the wrong person to be writing this review. The suede bolero/jacket thing was a bit of a disappointment though – since it’s single-sheeted, it’s got no lining fabric, so you could see the mediocre stitching. Still, it’s got a very healthy looking sheen to it and the fabric is über light for summer. Gmarket items seem to be quite similar in price and quality to H&M, so that could be a quality reference for those who were wondering. What you pay is what you get, isn’t it in most cases?

Now please excuse me, I must go restock on some sleep as my life is slipping through my fingers and running away with the milkman. Sorry for the dead-ness of late.

You know, I tried answering some Q&A questions these few days but I just can’t get around doing them, sorry Angry Frequent Visitor, I don’t have the time and energy right this moment. I have 2 major projects running side by side (occasionally one knocking the other over, snickering as it overtakes) and designwork from the Netherlands. This is my fourth night up and seriously I’m running on a bagfull of E000 chemicals and turkish delights of questionable source. I’ve got fat baubles hanging on my face like some christmas tree, and looks to me that I’m growing a second pair of butts just sitting at the laptop for hours on end.

So that’s one answered question at least – Why won’t I post the rest of the Q&A? – Because life says hey bumhead, PRIORITIZE.

On another note, thank you Sara from Public Personae for asking me ‘what I’m into right now’!
