I've moved on...
...to a different domain. Why, what were you thinking? The truth is, I just woke up one day and decided it's time for a change—a metamorphosis, if you will; or, in layman's terms, if Britney can shave her head, then maybe so can I? Nevertheless, it's been a rather handsome 10 years of talking to you, and thank you for putting up with all my moodswings and terrible dad jokes. Fear not! The hormonal imbalance and jokes are more terrible on CUBICLE, see you there.

Leave it to my brother to book things way early in advance – he’s got paranoia-duty in my family and is infamous for backup plans ranging from B-Z and travelling with one too many papers to prove that he is indeed who he is. Alright, I guess he’s not that bad since we both found ourselves severely broke this month, but he’d bought a pair of tickets to the Tennis ATP Finals live at the O2 area a few months ago, along with his weekend ticket to London (erasmus in Spain at the moment). I’ve never experienced anything like that, to tell the truth, it was exhilarating walking into the arena – full to the brim with thousands and thousands. Thankfully, the gentlemanly nature of tennis seems to plant a somewhat civilized behaviour in the said army of onlookers and apart from the occasional GO ANDY (Roddick) I LOVE YOU it was such a pleasant crowd experience. Who knew a tennis match would rekindle my (lost?) hope for civil manners? A roar of clapping never sounded so gentle and encouraging.

I’m about to crack one of those hilarious jokes again… just crawled home from Paris.

Why did the chicken… Nevermind, I’ll just go to sleep and you can retain that last strand of respect for this blog. I’ll ask of it next time when I feel the need to sell your information in exchange for free pair of Uggs.

Thanks Kit for the photos! Taken @ Arcadia SS11Pressday

A few friends over brunch, a bit like a scene in Sex and the City; except tartines refer to the eating type and Mr Big is a name for the soupbowl latté. All we really have in common is the fact that we have blogs, yet there’s always much else to talk about, like how Kit wants to marry a jar of marmite or how Jill used to be a police officer in NYC in the naughties. Last bit not really true, but I think it was something similar, she always has a story to tell which makes us wonder just how many lives she’s had until now.

Thank you Kit for the outfit photos!

Here’s a peculiar situation – this blog was about DIY and cutting back on spend-spend-spending yet you’re seeing new items on me in every outfit post. Oh hypocrite me. There, I wrote my own mean comment – beat you to it, HAH. I’m finding myself not knowing what to do with little or no time to finish personal/DIY projects, while free clothes arrive at my doorstep every day. I’m absolutely thankful for the gifts, and I don’t mean to brag – I just wanted to acknowledge that the blog has indeed changed a lot, and so I’m installing a leash. It’s like a horse gone rogue after having one too many free carrots from the stable kids from the farm next door. Pull some potato cart, why don’t ya.

Please feel free to leave constructive criticism about the blog at any point in time, the comments are always open, I always read them. I’m somehow blessed with a civilised and engaged readership, and I wouldn’t trade that for anything.

The yardsale was on fire on Sunday, what a blast! Who knew there was life before noon on Sundays? I arrived a bit late (fashionably retarded, that’s me) but there were already so many people loitering around the tables, eyeing each piece that came out of the seller’s suitcases. Some stuff didn’t even make it onto the table, I hear. My Chloé blouse was the first to go, and thus started the how to become a yardsale millionaire without addition skills. If you saw me pause before calling out the total price, that was me contemplating whether or not to use fingers. THATS WHY I STUDIED ART.
I also couldn’t help but overhear “Ann Demeulemeester… one pound…Preen…2 pounds…” over from Susie’s table and thought I must be hearing a collage of sounds jumbled up in a wrong order but it turns out her most her pricing was indeed £1!! And there I was, requesting £12 for a cashmere sweater that didn’t even have a brand tag. #ohtheshame.

Talented Vicky was our residential sketcher, as DSLRs are now so out of trend; she made her models stand in a pose while she sketched within a matter of minutes. Miss Frou Frou and I did the usual PDA – my love for her and her blog is beyond expression by ramble. Star blogger Alice was incidentally in town with her sister (blond hottie with polkadot skirt), and you won’t believe how tiny she is. Wrapping my hands around her waist (wait, more PDA here) was like grasping my thighs. Tom and his lady Worthington cordially paid us a visit (and ate all the wonderful Satay Chicken), as Ferry the Ferret changed outfits twice. Kit sold a pink porcelain pig cookie jar (to Susie, no other), and a mannequin torso (to…Susie), and later informed me she disinfected her coin pouch when she got home.

Thank you Susie for being such a gracious host, and Kit, Fiona, Zara, Nadia, Steve, John and Tommy for making this one heck of a party. I’ll be expecting another yardsale for third week of August 2011, 2012…infinity and beyond if you don’t mind please.
