I've moved on...
...to a different domain. Why, what were you thinking? The truth is, I just woke up one day and decided it's time for a change—a metamorphosis, if you will; or, in layman's terms, if Britney can shave her head, then maybe so can I? Nevertheless, it's been a rather handsome 10 years of talking to you, and thank you for putting up with all my moodswings and terrible dad jokes. Fear not! The hormonal imbalance and jokes are more terrible on CUBICLE, see you there.

Yup, it’s that time of the month and I have here for you three dodgy ways to wear a picnic blanket (Uniqlo broadcloth check shirt). In fact it’s so perfectly gingham that if ever we play hide and seek in the park I promise you’ll never know where to find me while all that time I’ll have been right under your nose scrunched up next to the lemonade and sandwiches. What can I say, one of my many talents.

Château de Fontainebleu

Neoprene Jacket, H&M trend. Jeans, Levi’s. Scarf, Alice & Olivia. Sunnies, Jeepers PeepersOxford Shirt, hubby’s Ralph Lauren. Chelsea Boots, Topshop

So… remember that giggle-and-titter trip to Disneyland from a few moons past with Jen, Fred & hubby? Believe it or not, there was quite a journey before we reached happily ever after in the land of dreams – no I’m not referring to the Eurostar ride. I’m talking about the shuffle into van and drive down towards the gleaming castle and towards a distant, yet still squeaky-clear, melody of ‘it’s a small world afterall’ and everyone hoots – even the boys – then driver takes sharp left and continues down 45 minutes through French countryside and passengers sulk silently type of journey. Later we found out the Vienna International Hotels team had so gracefully planned an extensive itinerary, which involved of touching four corners of the Disney experience, where three don’t sell princess dresses. Disneyland was first corner, naturally; second was Paris – an hour van-ride from the Dream Castle Hotel, where we got tipsy and watched boobies jiggle on stage. La Vallée Village was third, the outlet shopping village (think Bicester Village) two minutes from the hotel where I was denied purchasing a certain pair of Céline sandals marked £190 by hubby who pulled the leash (mostly expressing disgruntle over unfulfilled one-in-one-out policy). Fourth and last was Château de Fontainebleu, home of many, MANY Kings, Queens, Emperors and Empresses’ over the past eight centuries. Let me first apologize for the amount of photos you’ve had to scroll through and here’s a Gatorade for your fingers. (Olympic spirit!) By the third chamber I gave up with the tourguide and lagged behind, it felt a crime to simply brush by the breathtaking details of each room – the brilliant colours, intricate patterns and rich textures… Heck, I know this sounds oddly grown-up and therefore incredibly unlike moi but I’d actually like to visit Disneyland again and dedicate one whole day checking out the 9/10th of the palace we missed. Dibs on the palace if I ever become King of France.

If I may pause the LFW tape for a moment there… it’s time for super fun Uniqlooks! This month it’s crayon chopsticks for legs with UJ Colour Jeans. A little less marshmallow-y this time but only because now we have crayons and don’t we all know how good they taste. Surely I wasn’t the only one who licked markers and got high on Pritt sticks as a kid? WOW I think I just figured out the real reason why I went into art and not quantum physics. The trousers do come slightly long (especially for my Asian legs) (let’s just say they don’t put the stick in chopsticks) and I should’ve taken advantage of Uniqlo’s free tailoring service but what would that make of my DIYs… so once I have a free minute I plan to do some DIY leg-growing.

On a related note, if you’re in London this coming Saturday (25th of February) make sure to pop by the Regent Street Uniqlo store for a styling + shooting event, I’ll be there from 11am and someone will have to periodically shovel me out of the cashmere corner. I’ll bring the marshmallows, you bring the sticks, OK?

Thank you Jen for helping with the photos!

Leather Jacket & grey top – Day Birger et Mikkelsen, Trousers – ASOS, Shoes – Topshop, Bag – Warehouse, Rings – Daisy London, White Top – Diana Orving; Thank you Jen for the outfit snaps!

Never in the history of fashion (or mankind in fact, during PG hours at least) has ‘I’m so wet’ been used so loosely as today. You could hear It’s not London if there’s no rain being tossed around the courtyard matter-of-factly, but hi, I’ve been living in London for the past 5 years and I can tell you it rarely rains like this. It’s like all the bottled up pissin’ rainin finally blew up in the form of a bucket dump, subjecting us of all to a very bad case of sky PMS. So as streetstyle I logged a record-breaking number of photos of hunched miserable looking folk (I’m thinking of JAK & ILL) so we just ended up chain-lattéing under the Fernandez & Wells café parasol and debated on whether 6 inch heels and hobbling is truly a necessity to a LFW outfit.

On a separate note, Jen and I noticed the Union Jack at the top of Somerset House is black and white?!

Mary Katrantzou for Topshop; Images via  Topshop

I know this news is already spreading like wildfire across the interwebz but just wanted to do a bit of heads-up from my end. Long-time readers will know I go KAKA for Mary Katrantzou so this is one designer x high street collaboration worth hollering. It’s so soon too – 17th of February – first day of LFW for the relevant bunch, and prices start from £40 but the dresses are on triple digits… not so horrific when compared to her usual five-digit frocks. Will be looking forward to some wrestling in stores next week, I bring the mat, you can bring the oil?
