I've moved on...
...to a different domain. Why, what were you thinking? The truth is, I just woke up one day and decided it's time for a change—a metamorphosis, if you will; or, in layman's terms, if Britney can shave her head, then maybe so can I? Nevertheless, it's been a rather handsome 10 years of talking to you, and thank you for putting up with all my moodswings and terrible dad jokes. Fear not! The hormonal imbalance and jokes are more terrible on CUBICLE, see you there.

Exactly one month ago today was when I put the order for Canon EOS 550D at Calumet, with hopes of picking it up in a few days. I was starting to wonder, as days and weeks crept by, whether they were trying to assemble the camera with sticky rice, or instead of loading it onto an airplane they’d commissioned a Tokyo taxi driver to courier the cameras to London. Little did I know that the lovely volcano with a keyboard-slam of a name would interrupt delivery flights, and the factories lacked parts to birth my baby. Then the call came last Friday, and today Kit and I went to pick up the camera, oh bliss. This photoshoot marks the first hundred shuttercounts of the hopeful millions to come. Thank you 400D for being my closest sketchbook & pencil since 2007.

Thank you Kit for slaving in the heat, waiting on you to join the new-camera club!

Surprising detail:  A strand of chain is always attached to Chanel jacket flaps to add weight and prevent from flutter.

AW10 Faux fur collection

Come and play, Julie said, and I went over to Chanel HQ with my sand toys and Lego box. That was how casual it was, so organic; and despite that I don’t have a single Chanel piece in my wardrobe and do not intend to until one suits my salary & wardrobe, I’m falling for the brand. Their ideals behind brand-press relationship emits a certain humility that I don’t see in smaller brands and agencies that can’t even be bothered to write a simple Dear Shini in their emails. Oh the faux fur yeti coat, I was all oh whats that and before I knew what was going on Julie slid it on me, I promise I didn’t beg to try it on. The faux fur was so smooth it was unreal, next thing we’ll know they’ll be planting Chanel fur onto poor skinned rabbits.

Still very confused as I remember entering the graduation-project cave while it was still wool-scarf weather out and today I emerge out into this blistering heat of summer? Have I dialled the correct number, London? WHAT HAVE I MISSED?

Planning to brew up a storm now that I’ve got more time on my hands, finishing redesign & reopening blogshop first!  Hello there kitties (can I call you kitties) btw, I missed you so.

Since I genuinely look like a bum stuffing my face with Haribo Tangfastics while attaching 700 ribbon bits to a jacket (you’ll see what nonsense I’m talking about later) here’s a virtual (H&M) outfit. Well, with longer legs and a different face… Asians all look the same anyway, yeah?

Thank you Jill, you are responsible for the last half hour of no progress, but thanks for that burst of fun.

Sorry to be the missionary of procrastination but take a break, why don’t you.

We arrived at 31 rue Cambon after a pleasant 2-hour Eurostar ride; the lovely ‘French gang’ were there already – Alix the Cherry Blossom Girl, Betty of Le Blog de Betty, Louise from Miss Pandora, Elodie of Le Blog de la Mechante, and Natalie from the German blog Les Mads. Lunch in the lounge came first, and of course I had to screw table manners and take photos of the food – only if I’d had a thicker skin to last through to dessert!

I’d known about the Coco Chanel Cocoon bags before from this sassy video with Daul Kim (RIP) and had fallen in love with the versatility and youthfulness of the shape and material. This new collection (with Vanessa Paradis taking over Lily Allen) was a little less casual, which was a bit of a shame, but where else can you find a bag that can double as a cat/pillow?

I’m still very tickled to have experienced such new and beautiful surroundings, thank you Julie-Anne and Chanel for the invitation and amazing opportunity.
