I've moved on...
...to a different domain. Why, what were you thinking? The truth is, I just woke up one day and decided it's time for a change—a metamorphosis, if you will; or, in layman's terms, if Britney can shave her head, then maybe so can I? Nevertheless, it's been a rather handsome 10 years of talking to you, and thank you for putting up with all my moodswings and terrible dad jokes. Fear not! The hormonal imbalance and jokes are more terrible on CUBICLE, see you there.

If you haven’t yet had a chance to pick up the Jan 2013 issue of Company, you’re missing out on seeing the results of an impossible-made-possible shoot that was a solid giggle-fest. I don’t even know how Laetitia and I ended up on a chair, probably dared eachother while throwing your mum jokes at eachother. Plus, there’s THIRTEEN bloggers on the cover, that must be some kind of record broken right there. Championed by Susie Bubble, it’s a great little feature with nuggets of blogging advice and how everyone came to be where they are. We also filled out a little Q&A thing where it asked what my favourite AW piece is (to my horror my handwriting just got printed, in its full gory glory), and whatever I drew there, all I can now see is a nipple, or sunny side up eggs, at the best. Anywho, do pick up a copy!

Our family stopped decorating for the holidays ever since that one year we had our tree, fairy lights lit and all, up until about May – I joke not. The tree was one of those huge firry fake ones where the arms fold down and comes in a huge box, which we kept in the attic. January hit, and once it was a decent time for the tree to retire, my brother and I were instructed to unload the baubles and fold the tree away, but of course neither of us had grown a pair to brave the cold, dark attic. You must remember, we’re Korean, so our ghosts aren’t those adorable blobs with a sheet over its head that go ‘wooo‘, ours is a skinny byotch with jet-black hair over her face and looks like she’s been trapped in a well for a decade (oh yeah, so no fingernails). So you get it, why the tree came to live with us until summer, and since that tear we never bothered to decorate. In fact I wonder what happened to that tree… probably became a salad once the girl in the attic realized no one was coming up there for her to gorge on. So I love seeing all the holiday decorations up in London, what a feat! and to the brave, diligent folks who will have to take it all down in a few weeks… I salute you.

I am insane. I really don’t know where I’m getting this sudden burst of posting energy, but I’m quite certain it’s not the brick of chocolate I just ate. Or the extra few reindeers from our advent calendar. (Bought about a week into December so we can eat seven days in one go. See? Strategy.) The fact is, a few hours ago I returned dog-tired from six back-to-back foodie shoots, and instead of hugging the floor and letting dustmites crawl in my mouth for dinner, decided it was a good idea to fish out some burger pictures to show you. Lucky Chip (also can be found as Slider Bar in Soho) do the, I kid-you-not, best burgers in town, and this is coming from…me. I don’t see a more credible source; if you are what you eat, would I not be a bacon cheeseburger? or Pho? And when I say ‘best’, it’s not the type of ‘best’ fashion bloggers throw around casually, where every single new bag is the BEST. The meat-condiment ratio on these burgers is so optimal, even those with stomachs the size of a fist (Kit) have no troubles finishing them, plus a few hand-cut chilli fries on top. Ironically – those following my rants on Twitter will know – a few days ago I declared I was giving up on wheat, eggs and dairy as a part of an elimination diet to get to the bottom of my eczema. I wept as I put this post together. All because I love you… and also because I crave for burgers, scrambled eggs, and latté’s but now all I can do is sob really loudly until our neighbours call the police and then my husband gets arrested.

Woah, another post! There’s no tomorrow, haven’t you heard, so I’m doing it all with full gusto. When the world will implode on the 21st swallowing all but cockroaches, eventually a nova-species will rise from the muck – mutants with Ethernet cable-tails – and before you know it, it will be heatedly debated among the three-headed scholars how this poor lass they call ‘blogger’ suffered from Compulsive Posting Disorder, and exactly what kind of computation error occurred for her to wear an evening bag during the day. Kids will be quizzed on it, some will fail, and some will go to university.

Said lass will also have four chocolates left in her advent calendar if the world does decide to end on the 21st, which is probably not true anyway seeing as how her husband was spotted popping thumbnail-sized milk chocolates behind the sofa.

Boucheron Quatre, an eternal classic

Black coat – CK. Ice-blue coat – Brics x Anywho. Leather halter-top by Topshop (found in Vintage store). Skirt – YesStyle. Shoes – Primark (over a year ago). Rings – Boucheron Quatre. Belt – LV via Vestiaire Collective.

Maybe it’s that time of my life, a particularly melodramatic chapter with lots of ellipses between sentences and one too many rhetorical questions, but lately I’ve been sensing a definite shift in taste. Taste in clothes, food, books what have you, although I wouldn’t necessarily label this the point where I grow up, seeing how I’ve once again spent an entire weekend playing Sims 3 and setting fire to my own house. One day I looked at my wardrobe and couldn’t help but frown at the abundance of flamboyant, low-quality pieces, including lots of the DIY projects that were done on a whim – ‘masterpieces’ that weren’t even washable. Then I had a look in our fridge and found that it was full of processed foods. But I popped that pizza in the microwave anyway, I guess I’d eat a rabid squirrel in any chapter of life, grown up or not. My point is, lately I’ve been leaning more towards finding the ‘eternal classics’ in design, the trenchcoats, black stilettos, white duvet-covers and wooden toys, you know the deal. Not that I can afford a Chanel 2.55, but surprisingly this attitude has been helping me to take a step back from the gurgling wave of trends and even spend a little less. So when Boucheron asked me to interpret the collection Quatre with a theme of Eternity I thought it was only befitting to the recent ‘coming of age’, and Kit & I shot these at the most perfect location – the circular Diana Memorial Fountain, around a section where the water texture resembled the row of diamonds and cobblestones characteristic of the Quatre collection.

Also, do pop by the Boucheron store on Bond Street (the guards have a remote for the door so don’t let the un-budging doors intimidate you like they did for me) and discover the store with your Instagram with the tag #BoucheronQuatre –  apparently they’ll be publishing some favourite snaps on their Facebook!
