I've moved on...
...to a different domain. Why, what were you thinking? The truth is, I just woke up one day and decided it's time for a change—a metamorphosis, if you will; or, in layman's terms, if Britney can shave her head, then maybe so can I? Nevertheless, it's been a rather handsome 10 years of talking to you, and thank you for putting up with all my moodswings and terrible dad jokes. Fear not! The hormonal imbalance and jokes are more terrible on CUBICLE, see you there.

Next time you visit Krakow, get your hands on a bike – beg or steal (well, don’t steal…borrow), get yourself on those suckers because personally I think that’s by far the best way to experience the city up-close and at your own pace. Bicycle-lanes are clearly marked all over town, and here in Poland biking is allowed on pedestrian paths in most cases so it’s absolutely safe.

Ohh this little trip made me fall straight back in love with bicycles, and now I’m craving very much for a ladies town bike so I can load flowers and fresh baguettes in the front basket and have hair rustle in the breeze as I peddle past the busy little bistros…   …owkay, waking up.

Our family has once again displaced ourselves into another holiday – by car this time, to the fabulous youth city of the south – Kraków (Cracow). Five hours of semi-car-sickness and 3 hours of blind knitting (knitting in complete darkness), we entered the city at 1am, still bright and bustling with nightlife. We have no itinerary for tomorrow or Sunday, and since August 15th* is a national holiday I doubt anything will stay open – but the general idea is to bumm around Old Town and overdose on tourist ice cream then come back to the hotel to watch more grainy CNN.

Actually, I can’t wait to see the capital of culture, not that I haven’t been here… what, 6 times in the past, but I don’t think I was ever old enough to appreciate the beauty of the city. Well then, I shall report back soon with visuals.

*August 15th is a national holiday in Poland and numerous other countries commemorating the Assumption of the Virgin Mary – which to this day I still do not understand as nowhere in the bible does it claim that Mary was lifted up into heaven. Here’s a personal message to Christians of all denominations: It’s best to base your faith on the bible and the bible only, question teachings that are not supported by the Book.

I apologise for the increased randomness – considering the nature of my blog you’re probably thinking oh is that mad woman going to staple that horse-riding hat, and the answer is no, I wasn’t thinking of that, but hey shall we try? I’ll take the stapler, you wear the hat. I was simply cleaning out all the irrelevant crap in my room – the highschool biology notes, college applications, Cosmopolitan mags (the horror). I realised, on pulling out 2 boxfulls of stapler eggs (that’s what I call it in Korean) that I have not had the need to staple in FOREVER, and why is it that we always end up with BOXFULS of staples? From the amount I found it looks like I was aspiring to be a secretary at a law firm – my CV proudly stating: Collector; Owns bajillion staples, no stapler.

p.s I would very much like a riding hat to go with my handsome riding shoes.

Leather and links – Topshop   EQUESTRIAN Riding boots – ebay ‘Copy of an Imitation’

Some directions I might want to take for autumn. Besides the fact that I can never spell equestrian… equistereanne… ekestryan (there) right, I’m hooked on it. I’ve been scouring ebay for a good pair of riding boots, and on finding it also fulfilled the need for knee-high boots (need, since when do we need all the shoes we covet). So now I’m guessing I need a horse, which category on ebay can one purchase a horse, preferrably one with an engine?

This may be old news to some, but I’m still fascinated by Kathrin Rohr’s and Saskia Hammen’s Copy of an Imitation collection. There’s air of medieval, Tristan & Isolde to the designs, but with delicious modern twists – I do wish they were available physically somewhere so that I can lurk from a close distance… and reach my hands out to touch… but then pause, to put them straight back into my pockets and continue jangling the coins. SIGH.

Company magazine photoshoot; London; Big thanks to Ellen again for taking photos

In case you’re wondering this is not a staged outfit photoshoot, I happen not to have energy or dedication of such sorts stored in me to cough out an idea like that. Actually, I’ve been privileged to be invited by Company magazine to be featured in the upcoming October issue about British fashion bloggers, with a shiny flight ticket so I can haul ass to London for a shoot & interview. It was a bit like that scene in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, where fat Augustus pulls out the piece of gold ticket from his chocolate bite, and does the WHUTZEHECK? face. Well mind you, my whutzeheck face was very ladylike, then I proceeded onto a very violent session of packing involving a bit of screaming.
