I've moved on...
...to a different domain. Why, what were you thinking? The truth is, I just woke up one day and decided it's time for a change—a metamorphosis, if you will; or, in layman's terms, if Britney can shave her head, then maybe so can I? Nevertheless, it's been a rather handsome 10 years of talking to you, and thank you for putting up with all my moodswings and terrible dad jokes. Fear not! The hormonal imbalance and jokes are more terrible on CUBICLE, see you there.

Chanel SS11 Pressday; Last photo of Frances of Happy Because

I complain about PRs, but I don’t think I ever openly compliment any. Truth is, when I started this blog I didn’t sign up for this mandatory relationship between bloggers and PRs. I do realise it comes with the territory and it’s somewhat a responsibility (is it really?), but how can you not be peeved by those out there who 1) wants to use this blog as free platform to promote their brand, 2) sends emails with unsolicited massive attachments and 3) doesn’t even bother to address you personally? I have a life, this blog is not my full-time job, this blog does not put food on the table.

So I just wanted to write a short note of appreciation to Julie-Anne Dorff for being the perfect representing image of Chanel UK, for appreciating me as a blogger and a person, and being the sweetest and most caring in the industry. Obviously I haven’t met everyone in the industry, but if I can get away with saying ‘I love you most out of everyone in the world’ without having to have met everyone in the world, I can say this, no? Also, to those who think I’m kissing butt for Chanel freebies, you’re clearly in the wrong blog, here’s an exit link, please feel free not to come back.

Unfortunately this will be my last challenge for Take10 – I’ve decided to leave the project due to time management issues… and looks like I’m actually going out with a bang. By bang I mean a hyper-destructive explosion that caused the birth of this toxic sweater. I’m going to be honest, because in this superficial business of fashion the appeal of us bloggers is that we can’t be bought (with a free sweater) for a good review… If this teaches someone something, i.e Next to stop making itchy sweaters, then it really is a win-win tactic. It’s rather uncanny because, Next is doing so well nowadays with affordable trend and I’ve constantly been impressed, but if Andrea’s ‘lumpy blue sweater’ from the Devil Wears Prada trickled down from a designer collection, can someone enlighten me which designer inspired this creation?

I just wanted to thank the Take10 girls for the wonderful companionship in the past few months of teamwork! I guess I didn’t expect there would be so much logistics and effort required for this to run… I salute you comradesses! Do keep following the Take10 project via Twitter & Facebook!

Adiós Take 10!

V  V Rouleaux Marylebone branch on 102 Marylebone Lane W1U 2QD (map)

I dare you to walk into V V Rouleaux and walk out empty handed. No, wait come back, I’m not daring you to go in and leave your belongings in there. Although, leaving a bit of the contents of your wallet is a given. Can’t you see? this store is irresistible! Every spool is inspiration for the demise of a piece in the wardrobe. I always try visiting the store with a plan of action, so that at least I can avoid coming up with mediocre DIY projects to accomodate the ribbon purchase. It’s a bit like making a cool-looking gimmicky school project and then coming up with philosophical reasons to back it up. Some people think the name & meaning of this blog has such relationship… I disgress. The prices do indeed reflect the quality of the ribbons, which is fair – one can expect to find the rarest of ribbons possible. Bacon spool, anyone?

After Chanel Pressday near Green Park #teenvogue

London’s sporting bittercold wind lately, looks like Winter’s at the doorstep. Funnily, I was perfectly warm at the top despite the hole-punched glory of the jacket, but my legs were absolutely freezing in the leather pants. Turns out the pants had ‘breathing holes’ and let wind in like a mosquito net…
Speaking of Holepunch… Doesn’t it remind you of when you’re young and in school you try punching through a thick wad of paper but because the holepuncher is from a  Tesco and previously used by your brother to punch through lego it only does half a hole? Then you end up having to tear out each hole-flap but it comes off with a tail and all the holes look like teardrops… good old days. For those who have no idea what I’m talking about, YOU SHOULD’VE STAYED IN SCHOOL.

Thank you Nadia for the photos!

Some of my favourites from the Robinson Pfeffer SS11 pressday. That place makes me happy, the people, the way they run things… they had a Thai Royal masseuse come in for the day – I know it sounds like a lame attempt at a joke but they actually did, one that massages Cristiano Ronaldo. I’M SERIOUS OMG WHY ARE YOU LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT. I tell you, that shoulder massage really made me feel like I was high. Not that I know how it feels to be high. I’m just going to guess it’s similar to when you’ve inhaled too much nail polish remover because that I’ve done way often. Oh is that why everything but my nails were painted the other day…
