I've moved on...
...to a different domain. Why, what were you thinking? The truth is, I just woke up one day and decided it's time for a change—a metamorphosis, if you will; or, in layman's terms, if Britney can shave her head, then maybe so can I? Nevertheless, it's been a rather handsome 10 years of talking to you, and thank you for putting up with all my moodswings and terrible dad jokes. Fear not! The hormonal imbalance and jokes are more terrible on CUBICLE, see you there.

I keep looking for the right opportunity to mention this: I met up with Zanita during the London Fashion Weekend, I spotted her strutting down the runway last Wednesday in a black goddessy dress. As you can see, she’s absolutely gorgeous – sorry about the pic of us together, she’s like Glinda the Fair Witch of West and then me the Scarecrow. We talked about her modelling career and I told her, ever so enchalantly, that her face is versatile *slap mouth* sorry Zanita, I didn’t mean it in any negative way (negative likeversatile but not unique’?). stupid stupid…
So glad to have met her in person, she’s so down to earth.

Vogue UK April 2009 Pages 105,108

I’m a sucker for military garments. Vogue UK April did an impressive editorial using authentic army surplus garments, like the dress Karlie wears in the first photo. They can be bought in Squadron HQ, completely affordable (actually I’ve never seen such a low £price printed in Vogue) which also has a store in North London.

I got this navy coloured Middy through their online site – I can’t wait to pair it with something outrageous like leather or chiffon. (Do I even have chiffon?)

That’s the most attention I’ll get from a dog, I’m afraid. Either that or object of desire. Oh I need me a clingy puppy that cleans its own poop and does my laundry.

I won this little Paul & Joe eyeshadow+nailpolish set from a random-select giveaway at the delightful Luphia Loves… blog! (Thanks Tina!) These are the most pink items I’ve ever owned in my adult life, methinks. You see, I take Vitamin Awww in pills but I guess this could do for a natural healthy dose.

These boots get more attention from men than women – one guy walking by actually stopped and turned around. Could be either wtfart is she wearing or holy cupcake I want those. (Or was he checking out my rear end?) Creeping suspicion that it’s the first one though.

For those wondering about the processes of my ‘photoshoots’: First my beszt friend Ellen takes my outfit photos outside, then I gently escort it home where I brutally vandalize by cropping and editing colours & lighting. My camera model is Canon EOS 400D, but as I’ve said to a few, it’s a particular lens that makes the photos what they are – and which lens, is my little secret.

Indoors (i.e home) outfit shots is me struggling with the tripod and remote – which usually ends up with throwing the remote to see if I can hit the shutter button.

Doo.Ri inspired tights still not ready, taking über-über longer than expected… But I do like that it’s going in a more personalized direction – instead of the exact replica.

We celebrated our 4th Anniversary today, my darling stubborn Polish boyfriend and I.

We walked from Canary Wharf to Covent garden along the Thames, which is about 5.2miles/8.32km according to Google Map, occasionally stopping to observe pigeon porn by the river or to gobble up our picnic-on-wheels. (Which drew the pornstar pigeons closer, so we fled) Then came the traditional Mexican dinner – having walked 1/5 of a marathon, we asked for one of each and licked all plates clean. Took a bus home, both 6 months pregnant with burritos and nachos, boyfriend almost went into premature labour with a burp. My I think we do make a good couple.

H&M, Combat Boots (Ebay)

Finally found those H&M shoes, after literally revisiting the store almost everyday (major advantage of having school in centre of London). The flower thing in the heels and front panel really aren’t that bad, the double straps are really what’s worth it.
The combat boots from ebay are actual military issue, so they’re rock heavy but sturdy. Score for £5! I didn’t want to get ye olde Doc Martens so I searched for combat boots on ebay – luckily men’s size 6 is rather rare and not many are interested in them.

So here’s an Ebay tip, If your shoe size is UK6/7 (US8.5/9.5), there are plenty of quality leather boots and vintage DocMartens floating around with dirtcheap starting bids desperately trying to attract men with small feet. Shoesize-wise, in the UK it’s the same, men’s size 6 = women’s size 6; but in the US men’s size 6 = women’s size 8, difference of two.

Everyone having a good weekend?

Four London bloggers were invited by ForeverBetter (Sponsored by Miele) as VIP guests to the LondonFashionWeekend opening evening on Wednesday. The four were: Alizé (Blog de Tendances) and Katie from The Fashion Society, Kit of Style Slicker and The Fashion Assistant, and myself from hereabouts.

Break Ice We first met in Café Chino for a crash course on how to act like VIP (step one: have servants carry ends of hair) before heading off for the venue. No. We chatted over coffee about ourselves and blogging just to get to know eachother better – happens that Alize and Katie are from my university, and I’ve been following Kit’s streetstyle blog for months. Meh, tiny world.

Swift Never have I seen so many jealous faces when we were admitted without having to queue, both into tent and catwalk. (Smug face x 4)

Catwalk Divided into four different spring style ‘scenes’: American Idol, Domestic Goddess, African Queen and Etheral Nude. You might be able to notice gorgeous Zanita in the pictures, what a pleasant surprise to see her on the catwalk!

Rose Then we headed off to the event hosted by Miele, where we tossed in a real rose each into a Miele washing machine to see what tough water does to roses OoooOoo. After 30 minutes of we come back to find the roses as firm and alive as before we put them in. The honeycomb drum ever so gently washes so that delicate garments like silk or cashmere don’t come out like ragamuffin-wear. Miele washing machines last as long as 20 years which is how long I’ve been living (give or take 2 or 3 years…). So if I bought one now I’d have to endure its company until I had 3 kids and drove a family van.

Mista Garvida We also had a chance to oogle at two beautiful futuristic dress designs by Jasper Garvida (winner of last year’s Project Catwalk) and later actually talk to him about them. The white sequin-bead dress apparantly took 80 hours to complete, which he claims isn’t that long. Man, 80 hours is 4 days without sleep. Whadduyou mean it’s not long.
