Saw this on Juli’s Pigeon.Toed and WhoWhatWear Daily featured it recently, now everyone’s talking about it. Seems like a very doable DIY project, but the essence of this bag is not just the studs, but also the buttery soft leather and its slouch. I’m pretty sure no one’s thinking of purchasing an expensive new leather bag for a DIY… That’s not the point of DIYs, is it…

I’ve purchased this for now, I’d say possibly a better solution to anorexic wallets.

Lastly, I’m thinking of selling some of my shoes and clothes soon, would anyone be interested?  I don’t know if this happens to anyone, but I’ve mysteriously lost feetfat (?????) over summer and my feet size shrunk half a size from UK6 to UK5.5, so many of my shoes don’t fit me. WTFruit, right.

I’m staying away from ebay though…

Before I say anything, I just wanted to say thank you for the comments on the previous DIY post. It’s so encouraging, seriously.

I did come to know though, that the Rodarte DIY was done weeks ago by many bloggers including the wonderful Tiffany from SixSixSick (check out her DIY here), and I’m simply (unfashionably?) late. Well, as the French would say, Je suis en retard.

Anyway. Topshop says they can’t live without this one shoulder dress, so being the perfect subject for propaganda and brainwashing, I just went and bought it, broke and all. If I were a middle-aged housewife in Arizona I would probably also buy the Automatic Deodrant Spritzer they sell on Home Shopping TV.

Rodarte S/S 2009 through Style.com

What you’ll need:
Cutting board, ruler, white gel pen (or any fabric marker), scalpel or fabric scissors, pattern, victim leggings, and about five bucketload and a half of patience.

Fabric tips: I chose a elastic/semi-shiny leggings… Well, If you want to add another 5 hours sealing off the edges with a candle, don’t get them. Rodarte obviously had theirs laser-cut, so there’s no beating that. Also avoid cotton leggings as well – mucho fray and no easy way of seal. The best would be semi-thick material (faux leather or semi-shiny pvc) which doesn’t have too much elasticity.

Too much elasticity may end up in making the diamonds look like round holes which is just a glorified fishnet. Mine’s semi like that, you probably can see…
